Vicki White was born in Taree, in the Manning Valley of NSW & is a graduate of The College of Fine Art UNSW, completing a Bachelor of Fine Art & Master of Art in Painting & Drawing in the 1990’s.

White’s figurative painting practice has evolved to explore video & multi media with a performative aspect using her own body. Her ongoing series of work on pilgrimage, returning to work creatively in the familiar landscape of the Manning Valley, was borne of a need to re-evaluate her art practice after illness. Her work invites the viewer to inhabit the psychological space within the images, & to contemplate the references to the delicate shifts & balances of the human condition.

She has been a finalist in numerous art awards including the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, Portia Geach Memorial Award, The Fishers Ghost, The Tattersalls Landscape Prize, Eutick Memorial Still Life Award, The Blake Prize, & has won a number of awards & commendations. Her recent solo show ‘From August to August - Redefining a Practice’ was at The Manning Regional Gallery Taree in 2020.

White works in Sydney & Taree.
